Kate’s Testimonial After Abortion.

Kate had an abortion because her father didn’t give her another choice and she couldn’t seek help from anyone because she and her baby were an embarrassment to her father and his reputation. Her father and mother drove her to the clinic and her father made her boyfriend’s parents pay for the procedure. Her father refused to pay and waited for her in the car while her mother accompanied her to the clinic. She couldn’t say a word during the quick counseling session prior to the procedure so that would go against her father’s decision for her unborn child. Then she was off to the ultrasound room to see the baby. That is where she found out that the baby that she had been starting to feel move around inside her was a boy (Michael). Then she was off to the procedure room with her mom. She held her hand through the awful vacuum procedure. She cried and screamed. It was so much pain and the noise of the vacuum was so overbearing. The doctor didn’t have the courtesy to remove the vacuum container that was holding her son prior to telling her to sit up. She saw him in the vacuum container. Kate couldn’t even describe the pain of seeing him. Then she went to the recuperation room to lie down on the one bed. There were two other girls there, sitting in chairs. They were discussing how many abortions they have had. She just rolled toward the wall and cried.

She got into the car after a half-hour of rest after the procedure, and she remembers the first thing that her father said, with anger. He kept telling her, “Don’t cry over this and do not speak of it again.” And she didn’t for many, many years; even though it was eating her up inside. Her life got out of control for years and years afterwards. She never had a boyfriend that treated her well because she didn’t like herself. She got stage four endometriosis due to the abortion and the emotional trauma of it. She thought she was being punished by God, but what she has learned is that endometriosis is a consequence of the abortion, not a punishment from God. She suffered from depression, self-hatred, and infertility. She got married. Her diagnosed endometriosis and infertility were horrible for her husband and she had to deal with. Kate thinks that there is no much more to tell, but she sees her space is almost filled up. She has been blessed by God with three beautiful kids, and her son is her testimony from God. God is a healer! Abortion is devastating!
